Visual Characteristics
• With an even blend of light-red sapwood and dark, reddish-brown heartwood,
this grade enjoys ample color contrast along with naturally occurring character
marks.
• A combination of colors leaning to the rich crimson-red complements white
or brown woods while providing a pleasant color variation that matches other
red-toned species. Prime Red Birch makes a hard floor, suitable for high-traffic
areas.
• Sound knots and slight surface blemishes, limited by quantity and size,
are permitted. A small amount of light stain and light sticker shadow is allowed.
• Prime Red grade is free of shake, rot, holes, and checks.
Subject to availability
